Afghanistan Pavilion

THEME: Afghanistan: Heart of Asia, Land of Opportunities and Resources

PAVILION: The Pavilion is a reconstruction of the famous Blue Mosque at Herat. The rich blue and green mosaic tiles take visitors right into the stories of the Arabian Nights and invite them to move inside.

EXHIBIT: The Rahimy Collection of Afghan Treasures displays more than 400 unique items. The nomad tent, objects of daily use, antique rugs and textiles, traditional silver jewelry and corals show the time-honored history and brilliant culture of Afghanistan. The walls have large photographic prints containing scenes of daily Afghan life, as well as movies from Afghan TV.

CUISINE: There is no dining area listed for the Pavilion.

SHOPPING: The bazaar inside the Pavilion sells handicrafts, nuts and dried fruits, jewelry, textiles, spices and herbs, and the rich bounty of Afghan agriculture and crafts.

Note: This Pavilion is part of the Asia Joint Pavilion II.
