Pacific Joint Pavilion

THEME: Pacific Ocean: Spring of Inspiration to Cities

PAVILION: The Pavilion is the third-largest at the Expo and has an inviting exterior with blue as the dominant color, featuring the abundant sea life of the Pacific Ocean drawn on the exterior, tropical plants ringing the entrance and a feeling of the South Pacific’s island lifestyle throughout.

EXHIBIT: 14 nations and two organizations of the South Pacific will have mini-Pavilions within the Pavilion, each touting their tourism, industrial achievements and urbanization successes. Handicrafts and indigenous artwork will be displayed, along with the natural beauty of the islands.

Exhibiting are the Marshall Islands, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Palau, Tuvalu, Cook Islands, Micronesia, Fiji, Vanuatu, French Polynesia, South Pacific Tourist Organization and the Pacific Islands Forum. Many of the mini-Pavilions will have tourism information for those interested in visiting. Many of the mini-Pavilions resemble the wicker baskets that are prevalent in island culture. Several of the mini-Pavilions will present videos on plasma screens.

CUISINE: There is no dining area listed for the Pavilion.

SHOPPING: Several of the mini-Pavilions will have local crafts for sale
