Gambia Pavilion

Gambia Pavilion

THEME: Changing Our Cities for a Better Life

PAVILION: The entrance to the Pavilion is a simulation of Arch 22 which leads into the ancient city of Banjul. The impressive façade has a sailing boat in plain view through the center of the arch, giving visitors a taste of the charm of the “Smiling Coast of Africa” as Gambia is known.

The second is Urban Life which has exhibits on Juffureh village, the statue commemorating liberation for the serfs and James Island (a world heritage site).  A photo of the actual Arch 22 dominates the back wall, and photos illustrate why Gambia is an ideal tourist destination.
